Chinnor Development 2 Cropredy Reserves 3

Cropredy started well with Tom Goddard, Tom Horne and Ryan Carter causing the Chinnor back four all sorts of problems. On the 20th minute Cropredy opened the scoring with some excellent hold up play from Tom Horne who feed a neat ball through to Ryan Carter, for the forward to slot home and put the away side 1-0 up.

Chinnor got the ball moving better and started playing some good counter attacking football, they soon got themselves back into the game, a quick shot from the Chinnor winger from the edge of the box rebounded of the bar for the striker to stab the ball home to level things up.

5 mins later Cropredy got back into the game and started to retain possession. Some great defending from Elliot Chevis, who had a great game keeping the Chinnor midfield quiet. Chevis won the ball and played a long ball up to James Jackson whose shot hammered the upright. The pressure began to build as James Jackson and Dan Bartlett starting linking up well with the front three. Some neat play from Jackson and Bartlett saw the ball rolled into Tom Horne who rolled back the years with a cheeky back heel between the Chinnor defence only for Ryan Carter to slot home once more.

Tom Godard followed this up with Cropredy's 3rd, another well worked goal and wonderful strike giving the away side a 3-1 lead at half time.

Second half was a different game with Chinnor seeing more of the ball but Cropredy creating chances to increase the lead. Chinnor gave themselves a life line with 5 minutes remaining after a quick counter attack saw them pull a goal back but Cropredy held on for another 3 points to maintain the 100% winning start to life back in the Oxfordshire Senior League.

There was some great stand out performances from Tom Horne, Ian Walters and especially Elliot Chevis and the for the whole 11 that made the long trip to Chinnor.
